In honor of their 50th anniversary, Foshee Residential is giving back to the communities in which they serve by launching the Foshee Food Drive. From June 1 to July 31, all Foshee Residential managed communities are coming together to support those in need by collecting non-perishable food donations.

Why a Food Drive?
In Alabama, approximately 14% of homes experience food insecurity. According to Feeding America, 47 million people face hunger across the nation. Out of that number, 14 million are children. Hunger not only has physical consequences but also emotional and mental consequences that can influence work and school. Doing this food drive in the summer will provide meals to families whose children rely on school support for meals. To learn more about food insecurity, check out Feeding America’s website.

How Does the Foshee Food Drive Work?
Beginning Monday, June 2, each community will have a designated donation bin where individuals can drop off non-perishable food items that will be donated to a local food bank. This food drive is open to anyone who wishes to contribute, including residents, employees, applicants, and members of the broader community.
Each Foshee Residential Managed community is partnered with a local food bank. The communities will work with their food bank throughout the summer to distribute all collected donations. Foshee’s communities are proud to be partnered with the following food banks:
- Feeding the Gulf Coast
- Heart of Alabama Food Bank
- Food Bank of East Alabama
- Community Food Bank of Central Alabama
- Food Bank of North Alabama
- Eagle’s Nest Food Pantry
- Feeding the Valley
- Mississippi Food Network
*Monetary contributions can also be made directly to each food bank.
