Cleaning with Tide Powder Laundry Detergent

Did you know Tide powder laundry detergent cleans just about anything? It’s true. One teaspoon of tide powder laundry detergent mixed with one gallon of hot water equals one of the best cleaning solutions. This stuff is seriously powerful and can get even the most stubborn stains out of your clothes, upholstery (always spot-test first), floors, baseboards, tubs, and more.

The best thing about Tide is that it’s safe for almost all fabrics and colors, so we recommend doing a test spot first, but it is a pretty safe bet. For tough stains, you can even pre-treat the material with Tide to make sure it looks fresh and clean. If you’re cleaning a surface that is safe to use bleach on (like ceramic tile or a bathtub), we suggest adding 1/3 cup of bleach with one teaspoon of tide and one gallon of hot water.

There are so many ways to Tide, but our favorite way to use is mopping! That’s right, mopping. One teaspoon of powdered Tide and one gallon of hot water. Vacuum first, then mop with Tide, then dump that water and rinse the floors with hot water again. You’ll be shocked at how much dirt this gets up. Pro tip: if your “rinse” water is still dirty we recommend doing a second mopping of the floors and a second rinse as well.

Oh, and did I mention that Tide smells amazing? Seriously, its clean scent is something we all love. And because it’s a powder, it’s easy to take with you on the go. And because you’re only using one teaspoon at a time it usually lasts for a very long time.
